On the 22^nd of February at 17:00 “The World of Icons” exhibition of abstract art will be opened in “Dzyga” gallery. Exposition includes the works of 31 artists from Europe, the USA, Australia and Ukraine who work with abstract art and its contemporary movements.

Such Ukrainian artists as Myroslav Vayda, Serhiy Popov and Elena Dombrovska have come to Lviv to open the exhibition.

“The World of Icons” is the summing-up exhibition of the “Icons” international project that has been taking place for the whole 2018 year in the exhibition part of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv.

The authors have tried to answer the following curators’ questions: can the image exist in the works of abstract art if it appears in such works only in its prelinguistic form? Can the non-figurative art be a form of aesthetic exploration of the world and feelings or be a form of thinking in the world of abstract categories?

Each month the artists have summed up their thoughts and have created a new exposition in the laboratory part of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum.

“The World of Icons” exhibition of abstract art in Lviv is organized by KNO | Kyiv Non Objective together with “Dzyga” art center.

The works of such artists as Don Voisine, Deb Covell, Tiberiy Szilvashi, Elena Dombrovska, Billy Gruner, Kyle Jenkins, Wahida Azhari, Badri Gubianuri, Peter Holm, Kevin Finklea, Linda Arts, Sarah Keighery, Beverly Rautenberg, Henriette van’t’ Hoog, Li Trincere, Matt Feyld, Dolf Verlinden, Ivo Ringe, Michał Misiak, Olha Ząbroń, Marinda Vandenheede, Serhiy Popov, Turi Simeti, Teymur Daimi, Ivan De Menis, George Meertens, Werner Windisch, Myroslav Vayda, Richard van der Aa, Iemke van Dijk and Guido Winkler will be present on the exhibition.

KNO | Kyiv Non Objective is the artistic association that was founded by the Ukrainian artists in 2017. The aims and activity of the association are focused on the continuing of the traditions of abstract art in Ukraine, formation of the international multidisciplinary platform for the representation of the various artistic activities and the concept development in contemporary abstract art.
