May will be full of music in Lviv. Three concerts of well-known Ukrainian bands will be held in “Arsenal” Night Club that you can’t miss.

#1. KOZAK SYSTEM

On Friday May 2^nd a rock-band Kozak System will perform in “Arsenal” Club. It’s a mixture of Ukrainian and Balkan music, rock, punk and ska, informative songs and bursting live music. Musicians call their style “kozak-rock”.

The band founded in the early 90s, gained popularity under “Haidamaky”, through the years they changed musician and name, to become in 2012 Kozak system.

Time: 22:00, entry - 100 UAH (with LOKAL card 70 UAH).

#2. JAZZ STORIES

A concert of Ukrainian jazzman Oleksiy Kohan

Saturday May 23^rd will be devoted to jazz in “Arsenal” Club. The Ukrainian jazzman, the author and the host of radio programs, particularly: Jazz Time on the “Aristocrats” radio station, Oleksiy Kohan will speak about his “Jazz Stories” in Lviv.

Oleksiy Kohan has previously worked on different radio stations; he is one of the publishers of the magazine “Jazz Quadrate”; a representative from Ukraine in European Jazz Federation; member of the International Jazz Journalists Association; he was awarded the highest honour in Poland in the world of culture for “Merits in Polish Culture”; a festival founder “Jazz in Kiev”.

Oleksiy Kohan is the regular host of the young jazz festival in Lviv, Alfa Jazz Fest, having already become very popular.

Time: 21:00, entry - 150 UAH (with LOKAL card — 120 UAH).

#3. MAD HEADS XL

On Friday May 29^th the Ukrainian band Mad Heads XL will perform in Lviv. The band was founded in 2004 on the basis of a popular Ukrainian trio Mad Heads. Powerful wind instruments have joined the guitar, the contrabass, the drums and the crazy rock-n-roll drive. Elements of Ukrainian folk were added in new songs where the most significant are ska and reggae. Their music is very enthusiastic and progressive. Even having cancelled a concert in Lviv due to a car accident, the band posted in their website: ”While we can smile, we can cheer up others.” For more details please visit here.
